Plexus Scam: Interstitial Cystitis Cure Hoax
I want to warn Interstitial Cystitis and Chronic UTI patients about "Plexus Ambassadors" on Instagram who are targeting vulnerable people like you and me. Usually housewives or part-time working moms, they message us that their Plexus supplement can heal interstitial cystitis and chronic UTI symptoms. However, there is no evidence to support this.
One of my IC colleagues bought Plexus for $70 USD and got more pain in her bladder from taking it and had to stop it. I began researching this product and found out Plexus is a multi-level marketing operation (MLM). One of the Plexus stay-at-home-moms messaged me on Instagram that her Plexus supplements could cure my IC symptoms because it has cured many other IC patients. I found her claim odd because I could not find any testimonials from other IC patients on the Inspire forums or on my IC networks about this product. So I started to google it and found lots of articles backing up that Plexus is a scam. This is the lady who messaged me on Instagram:
These "Plexus Ambassadors" selling Plexus could be good-hearted or not, they may know it's a scam or not. But they could potentially be fake instagrams that have been engineered to look very real. They message you that their supplement called Plexus can "cure" your Interstitial Cystitis. If this were true, IC patients would be raving about it all over the IC networks and IC Facebook groups.
Plexus is an Arizona-based MLM company that markets nutritional supplements, weight-loss, and personal care products, and found a plethora of issues. Chief among them are that the company and its distributors make numerous unsubstantiated health and income claims to market Plexus products and its business opportunity.
Here are articles regarding Plexus as a scam:
